Xbox Dashboard Software Update Coming This Fall, Includes LiveTV, YouTube, Bing & More [Video]!

Microsoft has made the Xbox gaming console endearing with every software update it rolled out, and this (upcoming) one is no exception. Picture in focus : the New Xbox 360 Dashboard update. Yes, it’s a big one, and it’s equally good.

The new Xbox software update brings a multitude of features and enhancements to your Xbox gaming console. Apps Marketplace, Live TV support, YouTube and Bing integration are just a few to mention.

Yet they are equally enticing, you see. The Xbox firmware update adorns the virtual look and feel of your console with the amazing new tile-based Metro theme. Yes, similar to the one you might have already seen on a WP7 device or leaked Windows 8 screenshots.

It is graced by smoother transitions, small case text and it looks beautiful. Next in the line is Kinect-supported Voice Commands integration which lets you speak to your Xbox and trigger an action like, launch a game.

You can command your Xbox to take you to the games menu or the music menu just by speaking “Xbox, Games” or “Xbox, Music” respectively. Of course, there are a lot more commands in store for your fun and convenience.
You can also launch Bing by using a voice command. Well, that makes for another new feature due for release with the Xbox dashboard software update. Bing also enables you to launch services like Netflix and HuluPlus among other things.
For a start, LiveTV on Xbox may sound really interesting, and it is, for many reasons. But unless there are as many channels for the Xbox Live TV as for your cable or satellite transmission, you’d barely flip the switch.

Other interesting features include support for searching game titles by name over voice commands, ‘Kinect Fun Labs’ which allows users to download stuff and different gadgets that can be used to play with your Kinect sensor and much more.
Here’s a video of it in action.

We will keep you posted as more details surface. Stay tuned.
