Multiple discs have always been a part of the Xbox 360 experience, especially when playing humongous games. Say for example, Rockstar's L.A. Noire.
Rockstar has confirmed that the game is going to come in a sizable package, that it won't be enough in one Xbox 360 disc. Users of this particular console should beware as they will be playing the game in three full discs.
"L.A. Noire was always going to be a massive game, from the size and detail of the world to the length of the cases, and of course, the sheer amoutn of MotionScan data required for the faces of over 400 actors in-game. To tell the story and make the game we wanted to make, we knew that it was going to take an entire single layer Blu-ray disc and three Xbox discs," explained Jeronimo Barrera of Rockstar.
Of course, the initial reaction of Xbox 360 gamers is to be turned off by the multiple disc-swaps that will take place. However, Barrera reassures that the the game won't be disrupted by this at all. "In fact, players will only need to swap discs twice at natural breaks between cases without interrupting the flow of the game."
Yeah, okay. But I still think no disc-swapping at all is much better.
