If you have a Nintendo game console like DS/DSL/DSi/3DS, you know what gaming card is. And in most cases, people own a Nintendo game console know what flashcard is, like R4DS,R4i SDHC, R4i gold, M3, Acekard, Supercard 3DS cards. Yes that's right, these are flash cards to replace gaming cards.

Flashcards have almost the same capabilities as gaming card, but the cost is much lower. With a flash card and memory card, be it Kingston or Sandisk, you can play almost any game online available depending what types of flash card you have.
Flash cards are now widely used among world players. Due to their super functionality and low price, flash cards are very popular.

Well, the world's first flash card was made by the original R4 team, their primary flash card is R4 DS. That's why R4 card is the most famous and popular flash card at the time. Players have been purchasing the R4 card and searching the available games online for their DS.

But then, due to its popularity, Nintendo filed a lawsuit against the R4 team. Later a Japan court forced the R4 team to stop making and selling the R4 card. The team then was broke up and their website stopping updating kernerls.

However this did not impact the flash card adversely. R4 SDHC, R4i SDHC 3DS,R4i Gold 3DS,R4i red appeared on the flashcard market. However, none of them flourished. They started to compete against each other.

 

In the meantime, Acekard, M3 and Supercard developed more powerful flashcards, each of them have unique features. But their prices are usually higher than R4 cards.
