5TH Cell's Hybrid Pushed Back to Add Improvements
Despite making its debut at this past year’s Game Developers Conference, the new Xbox Live Arcade title Hybrid has been delayed until 2012. Originally slated for release late this year, developer 5TH Cell made the decision to push the game back to improve upon the foundation they’ve already established.
“Hybrid was very well received this past GDC. People really seemed to enjoy it,” said CEO and Creative Director Jeremiah Slaczka, “but with an additional year, we can take what we’ve learned and really drill down on our ideas to hopefully transform this game into something great.”
Trying to build upon the success of previous titles such as Scribblenauts, Lock’s Quest, and Drawn to Life, 5TH Cell hopes the extra time will allow them to perfect the game. Slaczka said “at 5TH Cell, our goal is to strive toward making the best titles we can, with the extra time we can make quality a focus.”
