Ark Hippo case adds some cushion to your iPhone
When you are at home the iPhone’s slim form-factor is isn’t the advantage that it is when you are out and about. The phone is hard to use hands-free (between your head and shoulder) and it doesn’t balance in an angled position that’s right for watching a video or gaming without holding it. With the addition of FaceTime video calling there is a whole new reason why you’d want to prop the phone up and use it hands-free. This is where the Ark Hippo case comes in.
The Hippo (they alternatively call it the ARKHIPPO) is a soft, cushioned case for the iPhone that is large enough to encase the handset in inches of padded goodness. The case is made of “proprietary closed cell resin”, which the company describes as being similar to the material that Crocs shoes are made of. It’s soft, bouncy, and should provide protection from drops (supposing the phone doesn’t land right on the screen which, like a piece of buttered toast, it tends to do).
The video makes the case look pretty handy, though I’m sure I won’t be tossing my phone around any time soon. Anyway, I do very much like the idea of a case designed specifically for the home, as so much of today’s mobile phone usage takes place where we live.
